Customizing the File Browser window

The File Browser window can be customized by moving and resizing the palettes. For example, you can resize the Preview palette to make it bigger so you can view larger thumbnails. You cannot, however, move palettes to a new area in the File Browser window, or outside of the window.
Customizing the palette display
Do any combination of the following:
  • Drag one palette into another to dock the palettes together.
  • Drag a palette's horizontal divider bar up or down to make the palette larger or smaller.
  • Drag a palette's vertical divider bar right or left to make the palette larger or smaller.
  • Double-click a palette's tab to minimize it.
  • Double-click a minimized palette's tab to open it.
Tip iconThough Photoshop remembers the arrangement of the File Browser when you close it, once you've set up the File Browser the way you want to use it, you may want to create a new workspace. You can save other workspaces with the File Browser set up differently any number of times so that you have several customized configurations.
