Importing an image using the TWAIN interface

TWAIN is a cross-platform interface for acquiring images captured by certain digital cameras.
You must install the TWAIN drivers that came with your camera before you can use it to import images into Photoshop and ImageReady. See the documentation provided by your device manufacturer for installation information.
To import images from a digital camera using the TWAIN interface (Photoshop):
Choose File > Import, and choose the device you want to use from the submenu.
To import images from a digital camera using the TWAIN interface (ImageReady):
  1. If you're using the TWAIN device for the first time with ImageReady, choose File > Import > TWAIN Select. Then select the device you want to use. You do not need to repeat this step for subsequent use of the TWAIN module.
  2. Tip iconIf more than one TWAIN device is installed in your system and you want to switch devices, use the TWAIN Select command.
  3. To import the image, choose File > Import > TWAIN Acquire.
